Senior Backend Engineer (FastAPI + Node.js)

Location: Remote / Nairobi / Kampala Type: Full-time

Type: Full-time

  • Architect and scale core APIs (SmartSource#, REX-11).
  • Integrate customs data sources and bonded warehouse IoT feeds.
  • Ensure data security and high-availability infrastructure.
  • 4+ years backend experience (Python/FastAPI preferred).
  • Knowledge of microservices, API design, and cloud infrastructure (GKE/AWS).
  • Experience with customs, logistics, or fintech APIs is a major plus.
Machine Learning Engineer (Trade Intelligence)

Location: Remote / Flexible in East Africa

Type: Full-time

  • Build and deploy predictive models (routing, pricing, risk scoring).
  • Optimize SmartSource# supplier scoring algorithms.
  • Develop real-time reallocation engines using OR-Tools.
  • Strong TensorFlow/PyTorch skills.
  • Experience with time-series forecasting, NLP, and optimization problems.
  • Interest in trade, logistics, and emerging markets challenges.
Business Development Manager (Corridor Partnerships)

Location: Nairobi, Kampala, Kigali

Type: Full-time

  • Establish partnerships with customs bodies, bonded warehouses, and SMEs.
  • Drive corridor adoption campaigns (launch events, roadshows, B2B activations).
  • Manage key account relationships post-activation.
  • 3+ years in B2B sales, trade finance, or logistics partnerships.
  • Strong network with African SMEs, customs, or 3PL sectors.
  • Fluent in English; Swahili/French is a major bonus.
